About Us

Mari Kermit-Canfield is the Creative Learning Librarian at Ferris State University. She comes to game design from a background in music composition studies with an interest in the immersive experience of game players and classroom instructors and a healthy fascination in the design and preparation of materials: aka a score and its parts for musicians, or the pieces of a game for gamers. Paired with intentional pedagogy, game design is a great fit for her.

Mari has a broad range of interests from art to musicophile, but you will most likely find her in the garden or her kitchen where she is enduring a non-stop aria provided by an incredibly cute black cat. The aria is entitled, “MEOW: You have not fed me!”

Gary R. Maixner III currently serves as the User Experience Librarian and Liaison to Communication Studies at Indiana University Indianapolis. His fascination with game design began as a kid and into his teens, designing wargames with his army men, building role playing games with RPG Maker 2004, and adapting JRPG games onto tabletop versions. Even today he fiddles with new games and ideas and spends a fair amount of time painting miniatures. His research has expanded into game studies, with a special interest in New Religious Movements and vampirism. In the fall semester he teaches tabletop game design as an adjunct. He is the codesigner of all Wunderkind Games works. He shares his home (and game collection) with his family, two cats, and a dog.
